Welcome to adrecho. adrecho is an independent, personal social media project developed and operated by an individual developer Ali Osman ŞAHİN ("we," "our," or "us"). This Service is not affiliated with or operated by a corporate entity.

  • Account Credentials: To create an account, you provide us with basic information which may include an email address and password. You have to verify your email to access the Service.

  • Profile Information: You have to add a nickname and may choose to customize your profile by adding a biography (bio).

  • Account Management: Information related to your account status, such as whether your account is configured as a "Private Account".

B. User Content and Activity

  • echoes and Interactions: We collect the content you post, including your "echoes", and replies. We also collect data about your interactions, such as likes, and what content you engage with.

  • Social Graph: We collect information about the users you follow and those who follow you.

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the adrecho platform.

  • To manage your account, including creation, authentication, and secure deletion.

  • To display your profile information, echoes, and public interactions to other users in accordance with your privacy settings.

>3. Sharing and Visibility of Your Information

adrecho is a social platform, which means some of your information is visible to others by default.

A. Public vs. Private Accounts

  • Public Accounts: If your account is public, your profile information, echoes, replies, and likes are visible to anyone on the platform.

  • Private Accounts: If you choose to set your account to "Private", your main echoes will only be visible to users you have approved as followers.

B. Special Rule for Replies and Likes

  • Important Notice on Replies and Likes: Regardless of whether your account is Public or Private, if you reply to an echo, that reply is published publicly and can be seen by any user on the platform. And if you like an echo, that like is published publicly and can be seen by any user on the platform. By using the reply and like feature, you acknowledge and agree that this specific content loses its "private" status to maintain the continuity of public conversations.

>4. Data Control and Your Rights

We believe you should have control over your data. adrecho provides you with the following tools and rights:

  • Profile Modification: You can update or change your nickname and bio at any time through the profile edit page.

  • Content Deletion: You have the right to delete your echoes, replies, or likes. Once deleted, this content will be removed from public view.

  • Account Deletion: You can request the permanent deletion of your account at any time through the app. Upon account deletion, your personal profile data, followers list, and echoes will be permanently removed from our active databases, subject to standard data retention backups and legal requirements.

>5. Third-Party Service Providers

We use third-party services to operate our platform, manage user authentication, and store data securely. Specifically, our Service is powered by Google Firebase (including Firebase Authentication and Firebase Database services).

  • Firebase Authentication: Used to securely create, manage, and authenticate user accounts.

  • Firebase Cloud Firestore / Realtime Database: Used to store user profile data, echoes, replies, and follow relationships.

>6. Security of Your Data

The security of your data is important to us. Since adrecho is a personal project, your data is stored using industry-standard cloud infrastructure provided by Google Firebase. Firebase employs advanced physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. However, please note that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

>7. Children's Privacy

adrecho is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or the legal age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy and, in some cases, providing additional notice (such as an in-app notification). We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
